Ultrahuman Launches HealthEx PowerPlug to Link Medical Records With Ring Data

The HealthEx PowerPlug, rolling out this week in the Ultrahuman app in the US, uses HealthEx to connect member-authorized medical records with data from the Ultrahuman Ring.

Ultrahuman has launched the HealthEx PowerPlug, a new feature for Ultrahuman Ring users that brings medical records together with continuous wearable data, allowing members to view diagnoses, medications, procedures, and health biomarkers on a single timeline.

The HealthEx PowerPlug, rolling out this week in the Ultrahuman app in the US, uses HealthEx to connect member-authorized medical records with data from the Ultrahuman Ring. The feature maps 532 conditions, medications, and procedures from electronic medical records alongside metrics including resting heart rate, heart rate variability, skin temperature, and deep sleep.

Members can choose which healthcare providers and care sites to connect, provide consent to access their records, and stop sharing access at any time. HealthEx retrieves records nationwide through the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA), after identity verification.

The integration is designed to help users identify potential gaps in follow-up care. Results, medications, diagnoses, and procedures are displayed with dates, while the PowerPlug can flag situations where a follow-up or health marker may need to be discussed at a subsequent appointment.

The feature also includes a Visit Pack, which generates a summary of the member's medical records, medications, and relevant wearable data for an upcoming doctor's appointment. It can also surface questions and tests for members to discuss with their physicians based on information in their records.

According to Ultrahuman, the feature addresses fragmented medical histories across hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and specialist practices in the US. The company cited an average US doctor's appointment length of 15 minutes and the involvement of multiple providers in patient care as factors that can make it difficult to assemble a complete health history.

“Crucial health records” can now be viewed alongside Ring measurements, said Mohit Kumar, CEO and founder of Ultrahuman.

Priyanka Agarwal, MD, MBA, co-founder and CEO of HealthEx, said combining medical records with continuous wearable data can give members a more complete picture to bring into their next clinical conversation.

The HealthEx PowerPlug is available to Ultrahuman Ring users in the US at $4.99 per month or $45.99 per year through the PowerPlugs tab in the Ultrahuman app. HealthEx Wallet, which provides access to a unified longitudinal health history, remains free through HealthEx.

Ultrahuman said deeper HealthEx integrations with its Vitamin D, GLP-1, and Respiratory Health PowerPlugs are planned.

The company said the feature is intended for general wellness and is not a medical device or a substitute for professional medical care. Ultrahuman and HealthEx also said member health data is not sold, used for advertising, or used to train AI models.
