During a recent high-level meeting, the Health Minister directed authorities to collect health data and digitally record it through a designated app.
Telangana’s Health Minister C Damodar Raja Narasimha has announced the launch of the "Health Profile of Individuals in the Family" initiative, aimed at creating a digital health profile for 83.04 Lakh families across the state.
The initiative is set to cover both rural and urban areas and is aligned with the 2011 census data.
During a recent high-level meeting, the Health Minister directed authorities to collect health data and digitally record it through a designated app.
The initiative aims to document individuals' personal details and health histories to better address Telangana’s population’s future health needs.
In his address, the Health Minister emphasized the importance of the program’s success and urged the health department to implement the initiative with sincerity.
In rural areas, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) will be deployed to households to collect the necessary health information from each family member.
The Minister also engaged with representatives from private hospitals during the meeting, seeking their input on the initiative and instructing officials to consider their suggestions.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Health Secretary Christina Z Chongthu, Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare RV Karnan, Director of Medical Education Dr N Vani, and other senior health department officials.
Earlier, the Telangana government announced the setting up of a health tourism hub, on 500–1,000 acres of spacious land, the state’s CM A Revanth Reddy.
The proposed health tourism hub will be located near Shamshabad, Telangana and the government plans to invite top healthcare firms to set up hospitals and medical facilities within the hub.
The CM highlighted that this initiative aims to provide comprehensive treatment for various diseases, catering to an international patient base.
He emphasized that many people from the Middle East already travel to India for medical care, and this hub would bolster Telangana's position as a premier destination for health tourism.
"We are planning a green channel from the airport to the health hub to facilitate easy access for international patients," Reddy stated, underlining the government's commitment to making Telangana a global leader in healthcare services.
