Nabta Health Raises $2 Mn to Expand AI-Powered Hybrid Women’s Health Model
The company said the new funding will support expansion across the Middle East and Africa, with plans to build new diagnostic and at-home testing pathways and strengthen clinical infrastructure through hospital partnerships.
UAE-based women’s health startup Nabta Health has closed a $2 million pre-Series A funding round, bringing its total funding to $4.5 million.
The startup said the new investment will accelerate its AI-powered hybrid care model, which combines digital, at-home, and in-clinic services designed around women’s health needs in the Middle East and neighboring regions.
Founded in 2017 by Sophie Smith, Nabta Health positions itself as a hybrid women’s health company focused on delivering accessible, evidence-based care across fertility, pregnancy, chronic disease management, and preventive health. Its model blends virtual tools, home-based testing, and in-person care pathways to reduce time to diagnosis and offer more personalized support for women across the care journey.
Founder and chief executive Sophie Smith said the funding “validates the company’s view that women’s health in the region can be reimagined through an AI-powered, hybrid model that meets women where they are, respects cultural contexts, and delivers measurable outcomes.” She added that the next phase will focus on scaling access so that more women across the Middle East and Africa can benefit from Nabta Health’s hybrid care pathways.
Funding Utilization
The company said the fresh capital will be used to expand operations across the Middle East and Africa, deepen partnerships with employers and insurers, and collaborate more closely with healthcare providers to embed its model into existing clinical workflows.
A key part of the plan is to introduce new diagnostic and at-home testing pathways that can feed into hospital and clinic-based care, supported by an AI layer that helps triage and coordinate services.
Nabta Health also plans to strengthen its clinical infrastructure through formal partnerships with leading hospitals in the region.
Earlier this year, the startup announced the launch of a Women’s Health Centre of Excellence with Clemenceau Medical Center Hospital in Dubai, designed to provide integrated care across multiple stages of a woman’s life.
Women and employers can benefit from mobile-first, sovereignty-focused care journeys. Chair Iain McMillan said the closing of the pre-Series A round confirms that Nabta Health is being recognized as a key enabler of better women’s health outcomes in the region. He noted that the business has steadily grown its customer base through 2025 and that the new capital is expected to support further acceleration into 2026 and beyond.
