Mapmygenome Acquires dnaPower Inc. to Expand DNA & Precision Health Testing in North America
The company also acquired Vancouver-based Microbiome Insights in 2025, adding clinical laboratory, sequencing, analytics, and bioinformatics capabilities to its portfolio.
Mapmygenome, a Hyderabad-based startup, has completed its acquisition of Vancouver-based dnaPower Inc., expanding its presence in North America and strengthening its portfolio of DNA testing, gut microbiome analysis, longevity solutions, and AI-driven multi-omics services.
The transaction aims to integrate genomic testing and clinical laboratory capabilities to support precision and preventive healthcare across Canada and the US.
Founded in 2008, dnaPower Inc. provides DNA-based insights into health, nutrition, fitness, methylation, and longevity for consumers and healthcare practitioners.
Its integration into Mapmygenome’s operations is expected to expand the availability of personalised health testing and create opportunities to introduce additional services in healthy ageing and microbiome profiling.
Mapmygenome’s existing capabilities include personal genomics, precision medicine and multi-omics analysis. The company also acquired Vancouver-based Microbiome Insights in 2025, adding clinical laboratory, sequencing, analytics and bioinformatics capabilities to its portfolio.
The acquisition of dnaPower builds on this North American presence by combining its consumer reach with Mapmygenome’s laboratory infrastructure and research and development capabilities.
"Acquiring dnaPower is a pivotal step in scaling our North American operations," said Anu Acharya, Founder and CEO of Mapmygenome. "Pairing dnaPower's commercial trajectory with our CAP-accredited clinical laboratories and AI capabilities positions us to define the next frontier in microbiome, longevity, and precision health testing."
The combined platform is expected to support testing across several areas, including gut health, biological ageing, pharmacogenetics and genomic risk assessment.
Its planned offerings include shotgun metagenomic sequencing for detailed gut microbiome analysis, epigenetic tests to assess biological age, whole-genome and exome sequencing, DNA wellness panels and methylation testing.
Mapmygenome has also outlined plans to establish a centralised processing hub in Vancouver, operating under College of American Pathologists (CAP)-accredited and ISO-certified protocols.
The hub is intended to consolidate testing operations and support service delivery across the North American market.
"Joining Mapmygenome unlocks an extraordinary growth chapter for dnaPower," said Dr. Lois Nahirney, Founder and CEO of dnaPower. "Backing from a global leader with elite laboratory infrastructure gives us the foundation to scale rapidly across North America, delivering advanced, high-quality products directly to our clients."
The acquisition expands Mapmygenome’s position in the precision health testing market, where genomic and microbiome data are increasingly being used to develop personalised health insights.
