Kerala Startup Mykare Health Launches App for Affordable Health Savings
The app is designed for those who fall outside government subsidies but struggle with the costs of private insurance.
Kerala-based startup Mykare Health has launched a Daily Health Savings App aimed at addressing affordability and access issues faced by India’s middle-class population.
The app is designed for those who fall outside government subsidies but struggle with the costs of private insurance.
The platform encourages users to save ₹50–₹100 daily for future medical expenses, turning healthcare planning into a financial habit.
Savings can be withdrawn at any time and are placed in curated financial instruments, including mutual funds, digital gold, RBI-regulated recurring deposits, and ONDC-linked tools.
To protect against inflation, the app’s investment options are designed to retain value over time. It also enables users to prepare for emergencies without resorting to debt or asset sales.
Beyond savings, Mykare Health integrates additional support features. Once users enter the ecosystem, the startup provides options such as coverage, interest-free loans, and guidance in selecting doctors and medical facilities.
Explaining the motivation behind the app, founder Senu Sam said that many people are hesitant to pay for insurance but are more comfortable with the idea of saving.
“This insight led to the app’s creation, making saving—not insurance—the entry point into healthcare planning,” he said.
