The New Civil Hospital has been designed as a phased development: the first phase will deliver a 400-bed facility, and the second phase will add 200 more beds.
Gurugram’s New Civil Hospital project has moved a step closer to execution after the Haryana Government appointed the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) as the implementing agency.
The INR 1,054 crore initiative is expected to bring a modern 600-bed government hospital to the city, significantly expanding access to public healthcare services for residents.
The project has been under discussion for several years following the demolition of the city’s previous Civil Hospital building in 2019.
The New Civil Hospital has been designed as a phased development to accelerate the availability of healthcare services. The first phase will deliver a 400-bed facility aimed at addressing immediate healthcare requirements.
A second phase will add 200 more beds, taking the total capacity to 600 beds and creating one of the largest government healthcare institutions in the region.
According to Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao, the government has directed all relevant departments to fast-track the remaining approvals and administrative procedures to ensure timely implementation of the project.
She stated that efforts are being made to keep the development on schedule and avoid further delays.
The Minister also expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini for facilitating the project's launch, describing it as a significant step towards improving healthcare access for residents.
Beyond increasing bed capacity, the hospital is expected to strengthen emergency care, specialist services, diagnostics and inpatient treatment capabilities within the public health system.
By entrusting HSIIDC with project execution, the Haryana Government is seeking to overcome the administrative bottlenecks that have delayed construction for nearly seven years.
