GMCH-32 Chandigarh Installs New Digital Imaging Systems
The upgrade introduces advanced tools, including the DR X-ray system, 3D tomosynthesis digital mammography, and high-resolution ultrasonography, enabling faster and expanding GMCH-32’s capacity to manage rising patient volumes.
Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH-32), Chandigarh, has upgraded its diagnostic capabilities with the installation of new digital X-ray and advanced imaging systems across key clinical departments.
The upgrade introduces advanced tools, including the DR X-ray system, 3D tomosynthesis digital mammography, and high-resolution ultrasonography, enabling faster and expanding GMCH-32’s capacity to manage rising patient volumes.
The new digital X-ray units introduced in the Department of Radiodiagnosis feature automated image processing and high-resolution sensors designed to improve clinical accuracy across orthopedics, chest imaging, and critical-care diagnostics.
A senior official from GMCH-32 highlighted the impact of the enhancements, noting that the updated imaging systems improve workflow efficiency and provide clearer, sharper visuals that support more confident and timely diagnosis. “These systems strengthen our diagnostic backbone, especially for emergency and outpatient cases where rapid imaging makes a significant difference,” the official said.
Beyond radiology, GMCH-32 has deployed upgraded Diagnostic tools in cardiology, neurology, and laboratory medicine.
These additions support advanced cardiac screening, improved neurological assessments, and faster lab processing, reinforcing the hospital’s role as a major public-sector referral center.
Hospital administrators emphasized that expanding diagnostic capacity is essential as daily patient footfall continues to increase. They noted that the new equipment helps clinicians access high-quality imaging with shorter reporting cycles, improving service delivery across the institution.
The expansion aims to strengthen the hospital’s ability to manage rising patient volumes and deliver faster, more precise diagnostic assessments, particularly in emergency and trauma care.
Officials added that additional upgrades in imaging and laboratory services are underway, aligning with GMCH-32’s long-term strategy to strengthen public health infrastructure and ensure timely access to diagnostic care for the region.
