GE HealthCare has introduced its latest MRI scanner, the SIGNA Sprint 1.5T, at the ISMRM 2025 meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The wide-bore system has been developed with a specific focus on cardiology and oncology, accounting for many global deaths annually.
According to the company, the SIGNA Sprint aims to offer 3.0 T-level imaging capabilities using a 1.5T scanner, particularly in diffusion imaging, enabling clinicians to achieve higher precision in diagnosis and treatment planning.
“We are driven to push the boundaries of what’s possible in MRI with our ultra-premium segment, as our goal is to set a new standard in diagnostic research and precision care that allows for earlier clinical detection and treatment response,” said Kelly Londy, CEO of MR Technologies at GE HealthCare.
She added that we are working to enhance diagnostic capabilities to provide patients with highly accurate imaging and peace of mind. We hope to help clinicians unlock new horizons for research in advanced imaging.
The 70 cm wide-bore opening and blanket-like AIR Coils are among the features designed to enhance patient comfort. The system also incorporates artificial intelligence features intended to improve imaging of complex anatomies.
GE HealthCare confirmed that the SIGNA Sprint has not yet been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or given a CE mark.
In addition to SIGNA Sprint, the company uses the ISMRM 2025 meeting to present other MR offerings, including the head-only SIGNA Magnus scanner and Sonic DL 3D AI technology.
