FUJIFILM India & NM Medical Unveils 1st Skill Lab for Full Field Digital Mammography

In a recent development, FUJIFILM India Healthcare Division in collaboration with NM Medical Mumbai, has launched its first Fujifilm Skill Lab for advanced training in FFDM (full-field digital mammography) technologies for radiologists and radiographers.

Reportedly, the inaugural session witnessed the participation of eight candidates, comprising four radiologists and four radiographers.

On the collaboration, Rahil Shah, director, NM Medical, said, "We welcome this partnership where the right equipment, skills, and healthcare professionals will come together to enhance accurate diagnosis. As we embark on this stride to maximise early detection minimise life threatening diseases we believe education, innovation, and collaboration together will play a pivotal role.”

Mammography Skill Development Program

The training for radiologists and radiographers is provided under the Fujifilm Mammography Skill Development Program.

It is specifically designed to empower radiographers and radiologists to enhance their skills and deliver improved diagnoses to their patients and customers using Fujifilm’s mammography machines.

Additionally, the program is tailored specifically for professionals working in breast imaging, this comprehensive program seeks to harness the full potential of technologically advanced mammography machines developed by Fujifilm.

According to the company, by empowering radiographers and radiologists with the necessary skills and expertise, Fujifilm strives to make a meaningful impact on breast cancer detection, diagnosis, and patient care, ultimately improving outcomes and saving lives.

Moreover, the program provides hands-on training with practical applications covering all aspects of mammography, from patient positioning to advanced imaging procedures.

It emphasizes imaging techniques, technology overview, and hands-on experience that will help radiologists and radiographers stay up to date with the latest advancements in mammography and advanced applications such as 3D Tomosynthesis.

Dr Shilpa Lad, consultant breast imaging & intervention, shared insights into the program, stating, “Fujifilm Mammography Skill Development program in collaboration with NM Medical, Mumbai, will enhance patient care by providing radiologists with training in cutting-edge mammography technology.
