CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Leads Assam’s AI Hospital Push with Lord’s Mark Industries
The system tracks vital parameters round-the-clock without physical contact, aiming to enhance patient safety, infection control, and clinical efficiency in high-dependency care settings.
Lord’s Mark Industries has announced the installation of what it described as the world’s first AI-based, contactless remote patient monitoring system at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.
The system has been deployed in a step-down ICU ward as part of the newly inaugurated medical college complex.
The facility was formally inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, positioning the initiative as a significant development in the state’s healthcare infrastructure. The deployment places Assam at the forefront of AI-enabled clinical care within India’s public healthcare system.
With this rollout, Assam becomes the first state in India to operationalise an AI-driven hospital model in the public healthcare system, using continuous, non-intrusive patient monitoring to support early risk detection, real-time clinical insights, and faster medical decision-making.

Our collaboration with the Government of Assam reflects a shift from reactive care to predictive, AI-led healthcare delivery. By deploying the world’s first contactless, AI-based remote patient monitoring system, we are enabling clinicians with continuous, real-time insights that support more accurate diagnosis, timely intervention, and improved patient outcomes. Assam’s leadership in adopting this model sets a powerful national benchmark for scalable, future-ready public healthcare.”
The initiative aligns with Assam’s efforts to strengthen healthcare access and quality through digital infrastructure and is positioned as a blueprint for other states, central health institutions, and private hospital networks.
For Lord’s Mark Industries Ltd, the deployment supports its focus on developing healthcare technologies in India aimed at addressing clinical challenges in collaboration with governments and institutions.
