Aster DM Healthcare Announces INR 1,661 Cr Investment to Advance Kerala Healthcare Infrastructure Expansion

As part of the expansion roadmap, Aster and QCIL plan to add 1,315 new beds over the coming years.

Aster DM Healthcare and Quality Care India have announced plans to invest INR 1,661 crore in Kerala as part of a major expansion initiative aimed at strengthening healthcare infrastructure across the state.

The announcement was made after Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder & Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, recently met with V.D. Satheesan, the newly elected Chief Minister of Kerala.

The discussion focused on strengthening healthcare infrastructure, medical education, skill development, healthcare technology, medical tourism, and charitable initiatives across Kerala.

Speaking on the new development, Dr. Moopen said, “Kerala occupies a special place in Aster’s journey and continues to be one of our most strategic markets. The State has a unique advantage through its highly skilled doctors, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals, who are respected across India and around the world.”

“We remain committed to partnering with the Government of Kerala in realizing the State’s vision of becoming one of India’s leading healthcare destinations,” he added.

As part of the expansion roadmap, Aster and QCIL plan to add 1,315 new beds over the coming years.

Under the initiative, Aster is set to add 834 beds in the State, including a new 454-bed Aster hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, intended to enhance access to advanced healthcare services in South Kerala.

Following the merger of Aster and QCIL, the combined network will operate 11 hospitals across Kerala with a total capacity of 4,575 beds.

The group currently employs more than 18,400 healthcare professionals and expects to generate nearly 7,900 additional jobs through the expansion

The latest development is further expected to enhance healthcare capacity in the state while also contributing to regional economic growth.

In addition, Dr Moopen also highlighted Aster’s INR 120 crore Cancer Care CSR Programme, designed to establish advanced cancer treatment facilities across different parts of India over the next three years.

As per reports, the first project under the initiative will include the installation of an advanced Linear Accelerator (LINAC) facility in Wayanad, intended to bring advanced radiation therapy closer to patients in underserved regions.

The project is expected to improve healthcare access for cancer patients, particularly those facing financial and geographical barriers.
