Aster DM Healthcare Invests INR 96 Cr To Expand Whitefield Facility To 539 Beds
The expansion includes a dedicated 159-bed women and children unit aimed at delivering end-to-end maternal and pediatric care.
Aster DM Healthcare has invested INR 96 crore to expand its Aster Whitefield Hospital in Bengaluru, increasing its total bed capacity from 380 to 539 beds. The expansion strengthens the hospital’s focus on specialised women and children's healthcare services.
The upgraded facility was inaugurated by Karnataka Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dinesh Gundu Rao and Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly UT Khader. The expansion includes a dedicated 159-bed women and children unit aimed at delivering end-to-end maternal and pediatric care.
The unit will provide services covering the complete maternity care journey, including preconception, pregnancy, childbirth, and postnatal support. It is equipped with advanced medical infrastructure such as water birthing services, laparoscopic gynaecology procedures, a foetal medicine and surgery unit, and a high-tech neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The facility also includes a fertility centre, neonatal and pediatric surgical services, a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), and a high dependency unit (HDU).
Speaking at the inauguration, Dinesh Gundu Rao said that expanding specialised healthcare infrastructure improves access to quality care for mothers and children and contributes to better maternal and child health outcomes.
Aster DM Healthcare Founder Azad Moopen said the expansion reflects rising demand for high-quality maternal and pediatric care services. He added that scaling both infrastructure and clinical expertise is essential to provide comprehensive care under one system.
The Whitefield expansion is part of Aster DM Healthcare’s broader growth strategy in Bengaluru, which also includes a 500-bed hospital in Yeshwantpur and a 430-bed facility in Sarjapur.
With these additions, Aster DM Healthcare’s total capacity in Karnataka will increase to 2,573 beds, further strengthening its presence in the state’s private healthcare sector.
