Yatharth Hospitals in Talks with Advent International to Raise INR 3000 Cr Funds
The proposed investment is expected to support the group's plans to increase capacity to more than 5,000 beds over the next three years, alongside investments in robotics, oncology and transplant programs.
Noida-based hospital chain Yatharth Hospital & Trauma Care Services is reportedly in discussions with US-based private equity firm Advent International to raise up to INR 3000 Crore to support its expansion.
Based in Noida and Greater Noida, Yatharth operates hospitals across Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana and has expanded its presence through acquisitions and capacity additions in recent years.
Following its announcement of a 250-bed Gurugram hospital, the group now operates around 2,800 beds across Noida, Greater Noida, Noida Extension, Greater Faridabad, Model Town in New Delhi, Faridabad, Jhansi-Orchha in Madhya Pradesh and its recently added hospital in Agra.
The proposed investment is expected to support the group's plans to increase capacity to more than 5,000 beds over the next three years, alongside investments in robotics, oncology and transplant programs.
As part of its fundraising plan, the board of directors of Yatharth Hospital & Trauma Care Services is set to “discuss and consider the growth plans of the company” and potential fundraising options.
According to the exchange disclosure, the proposed fundraising is expected to take place through raising debt, a rights issue, preferential allotment, or qualified institutional placement.
US-based Advent International, led by Shweta Jalan, has previously invested in India’s hospital sector through Care Hospitals. It exited the company in 2016 by selling its stake to UAE-based Abraaj Group.
In 2024, Advent re-entered the healthcare segment by making an INR 2,475-crore equity investment in Apollo 24|7, a subsidiary of Apollo Hospitals, giving the private equity firm a stake in Apollo’s digital healthcare platform.
The proposed transaction is expected to provide Advent a minority stake in the healthcare provider, with the deal likely to involve a primary issuance of shares in two tranches.
According to sources, if the proposed transaction proceeds, Advent International could end up with a minority stake of between 20 percent and 24 percent in Yatharth Hospital & Trauma Care Services.
The latest development follows earlier reports indicating Advent International and Blackstone-backed Aster DM Quality Care’s potential acquisition of a controlling stake in Yatharth Hospitals and Trauma Care Services.
