West Bengal Records 50,000+ Ayushman Beneficiaries in One Month: CM Suvendu Adhikari

CM Suvendu Adhikari shared the milestone in a post on X on Monday, marking one month since the scheme was rolled out in West Bengal on August 16, 2026.

More than 50,000 people have received hospital care and treatment in West Bengal within a month of the rollout of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (ABPMJAY) scheme in the state, with essential treatments worth over Rs 28 crore delivered to beneficiaries.

CM Suvendu Adhikari shared the milestone in a post on X on Monday, marking one month since the scheme was rolled out in West Bengal on August 16, 2026.

“Pleased to share a significant milestone in our collective mission to ensure accessible, dignified and quality healthcare for every citizen, especially the underprivileged across West Bengal. Today marks exactly one month since the rollout of the ABPMJAY in our state on 16th August, 2026, and the impact has already reached tens of thousands of families,” Adhikari wrote in the X post.

The CM said 1,102 patients from Bengal had availed themselves of medical services in hospitals outside the state.

“ Upholding our commitment to universal care, West Bengal’s healthcare facilities treated 1,849 patients from other states during this period,” the post read.

“Health is a fundamental right. Our govt remains steadfast in strengthening public healthcare infrastructure, easing medical costs for families in need, and ensuring that no one is left behind,” he posted.

Adhikari thanked doctors, nurses, healthcare workers and administrators for their work in achieving the milestone.
