SOPHiA GENETICS and Strand's collaboration will leverage their bioinformatics expertise to enhance healthcare data analysis for informed decision-making.

SOPHiA GENETICS, a leading healthcare software company specializing in data-driven medicine, has collaborated with Strand Life Sciences to drive innovation and expand the use of precision medicine worldwide.

This partnership seeks to bring together the expertise of these two industry leaders to deliver cutting-edge solutions in genomics technologies, bioinformatics services, and diagnostics.

Headquartered in Bangalore, India, Strand Life Sciences is known for its expertise in bioinformatics, laboratory assays, and clinical research.

Apart from its focus on precision medicine, Strand also supports a global customer base by providing custom applications to enhance healthcare delivery.

Sharing thoughts, Ramesh Hariharan, CEO and cofounder, Strand, said, "Our partnership with SOPHiA GENETICS aims to leverage our combined bioinformatics expertise to advance the delivery of precision medicine globally. By harnessing the power of data-driven decision-making, we aim to improve patient care and outcomes."

What the Partnership Seeks?

The collaboration between SOPHiA GENETICS and Strand will capitalize on their bioinformatics capabilities to enhance the analysis of healthcare data and support data-driven decision-making.

Moreover, SOPHiA GENETICS will contribute its decentralized SOPHiA DDM Platform, while Strand will provide access to curated variant databases and bioinformatics solutions, per the deal.

Together, the companies aim to focus on strategic test co-development initiatives to address healthcare challenges and improve health outcomes, particularly in India and across the globe.

Talking about shared vision of the companies, Jurgi Camblong, CEO and cofounder of SOPHiA GENETICS said, "Our collaboration with Strand underscores our commitment to leveraging innovative technologies for the benefit of patients. By combining our strengths in bioinformatics and data analytics, we aim to accelerate the delivery of accurate and timely treatments for cancer and rare diseases."

The SOPHiA DDM Platform serves as a centralized hub for genomic analysis, utilizing machine learning algorithms to compute a wide range of genomic variants.

Through this collaboration, SOPHiA GENETICS and Strand are expected to enhance their value propositions by leveraging sophisticated technologies and expertise in bioinformatics.

By combining their respective strengths, the partnership between SOPHiA GENETICS and Strand seeks to advance precision medicine globally.

Additionally, by harnessing the power of data-driven medicine, they aim to empower healthcare organizations, improve patient outcomes, and shape the future of precision medicine.

In another development, in January this year, Siemens Healthineers and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) joined hands to launch the Siemens Healthineers-Computational Data Sciences (CDS) Collaborative Laboratory for AI in Precision Medicine at IISc Bangalore.

The CDS Collaborative Laboratory is dedicated to creating open-source AI-based tools to automate the segmentation of pathological findings in neuroimaging data precisely.

Moreover, the newly launched lab will specifically focus on accurately diagnosing neurological diseases and analyzing their clinical impact at a population level.
