KKR-Backed IVI Signs $450 Mn Deal to Acquire ART Fertility Clinics

KKR-backed IVI RMA Global, a US-based leader in infertility treatment, is set to acquire ART Fertility clinics for $400-450 million.
This deal marks a significant expansion into India's growing IVF market, driven by increasing infertility rates and private equity investments. It aims to add India to IVI RMA’s global presence.
The acquisition will aid IVI RMA’s global expansion plans by adding India to its presence in over 15 countries and more than 190 clinical offices across the US, Europe, and Latin America.
As per reports, both the parties are in their final stages of documentation for a shareholders’ agreement and are hoping to wrap up the transaction by June-end.
Valuing the homegrown Indian investment bank at approximately INR 6,000 Cr (700 mn), the acquisition comes after months of complex negotiations marked by multiple rounds of discussions and shifting deal structures.
KKR, a leading global investment firm based in New York, is the majority stakeholder in Avendus Capital, a Mumbai-based homegrown investment bank.
Additionally, KKR acquired a controlling stake in Avendus in 2015 for approximately INR 1,150 Cr, recognizing its potential in India’s growing financial services space.
