According to a release from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the program's primary goal is to improve the standard of living and life expectancy of Kerala’s residents.
The initiative aims to help citizens lead lives free from preventable diseases, accidents, and premature deaths while ensuring value-based healthcare.
Special attention will be given to the welfare of economically disadvantaged populations.
The project will address Kerala’s demographic and epidemiological challenges by establishing resilient healthcare systems capable of adapting to emerging threats, including those posed by climate change.
The program will strengthen healthcare infrastructure, develop an ecosystem to prevent non-communicable diseases, and implement climate-responsive health strategies.
It will also improve interdepartmental coordination to ensure swift responses to emerging health threats.
Efforts will be made to reinforce emergency and trauma care services, with the creation of a 24x7 emergency response network, including ambulances and a trauma registry.
In the field of elderly care, the project will collaborate with local self-government institutions to address current and future healthcare challenges.
This includes enhancing human resource capabilities, expanding public health funding, and universalizing digital health applications.
The program will also prioritize healthcare services for people below the poverty line, ensuring equitable access to essential medical support.
