Made feasible through a donation of 25 health ATMs by HP Enterprises as part of its CSR initiative, this project operates under Karnataka's 'Arokya Mitra' scheme, with the core objective of delivering preventive healthcare services to citizens.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah unveiled Karnataka's first-ever 'health ATM' during the Kalyana Karnataka Utsav in Kalaburagi. This innovative project, part of the 'Arokya Mitra' scheme, aims to provide preventive healthcare to citizens and was made possible through a donation of 25 health ATM machines by HP Enterprises under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.
These health ATMs are fully automated and offer comprehensive health screening for up to 50 parameters. Users simply stand on the machine's scale and place their palms for quick readings, including blood pressure, among other vital health metrics.
HP Enterprises described the Health ATM as a touchscreen kiosk designed to manage and provide access to personal health information through any internet-connected web browser.
It has the capability to screen more than 70 health parameters within fifteen minutes, including height, weight, body temperature, blood glucose, blood pressure, and various blood tests, along with heart check-ups and oxygen saturation levels, followed by an instant report.
This initiative follows HP's earlier installation of 50 health kiosks in Himachal Pradesh's tourist destinations along the Char Dham route, including Yamunotri, Gangotri, Badrinath, and Kedarnath.
If these health ATMs prove successful, the Karnataka state government intends to replicate them in major cities across the state, significantly expanding access to preventive healthcare services for its citizens.
Earlier this year, in another development, Yolo Health Foundation and HealthATM India collaborated with several state governments to deploy 500 advanced Health ATMs in a span of two months.
These innovative ATMs were to be installed in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Arunachal Pradesh, heralding a significant advancement in healthcare accessibility for residents of these regions.
The state-of-the-art Health ATMs are equipped with cutting-edge features, including high-resolution cameras and interactive touchscreens, enabling them to assess more than 60 health parameters swiftly. In a matter of minutes, these ATMs can provide comprehensive health monitoring, covering essential body statistics, cardiac health evaluations, blood glucose level measurements, white blood cell analysis, and vital sign assessments related to diabetes, urine, and haemoglobin.
