The app features include tele-diagnosis, teleconsultation, emergency care access, and information on doctor availability and hospital services.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah launched the 'e-SeHAT' mobile application on Wednesday. The application aims to improve access to healthcare services across the Union Territory.
The platform is designed to support citizens, doctors, and healthcare professionals through a range of digital tools and services.
The chief minister stated that the app aims to alleviate the burden on polyclinics, streamline patient engagement, and enhance the healthcare experience for users.
"The goal of this app is to revolutionize healthcare access and elevate the overall healthcare experience for all beneficiaries," he stated on social media.
During the launch, the chief minister encouraged further enhancement of the app's interface and functionality, suggesting integration with appointment systems of empanelled private health institutions.
He directed the Health and Medical Education Department to conduct staff training workshops to use the platform efficiently.
Abdullah also recommended a structured monitoring framework, with weekly reviews by the Health Secretary, monthly reviews by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, and quarterly assessments by the minister in charge.
Health Secretary Syed Abid Rashid explained that the app provides an extensive set of digital healthcare services aimed at both urban and remote populations.
Features include tele-diagnosis, teleconsultation, emergency care access, and information on doctor availability and hospital services.
Users can book appointments, access diagnostic and surgical service details, and obtain emergency support.
The app also includes tools for disease prevention, an AI-powered symptom checker, health tracking, medication reminders, and multilingual support. It is compatible with wearable devices for real-time health monitoring.
For medical students, the app offers details on academic programs, hostel accommodations, library access, and exchange opportunities. It also supports continuous learning through CPR, Basic Life Support (BLS) training, and workshops.
A hospital networking and referral mechanism is included to streamline patient transfers and improve emergency coordination.
The e-SeHAT app offers comprehensive information on health insurance schemes such as Ayushman Bharat PMJAY, Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), and Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), making it easier for citizens to navigate benefits and entitlements.
