IIT Patna Incubation Centre Inaugurates BioNEST Facility, Inks MoU to Boost Healthcare & Research Collaboration

The facility is focused on areas including biotechnology, life sciences, healthcare, MedTech, and deep tech, while strengthening the biotechnology and bioeconomy ecosystem in Bihar and Eastern India.

The Incubation Centre IIT Patna (IC IIT Patna) has inaugurated the BioNEST Facility, aimed at supporting biotechnology, life sciences, and healthcare innovation in Bihar.

The facility has been established with financial assistance from BIRAC, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.

It is designed to provide startups, researchers, and innovators with access to modern laboratory infrastructure, advanced scientific equipment, technical guidance, and a collaborative innovation ecosystem.

The inauguration also included the signing and exchange of strategic MoUs between the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Hajipur & IC IIT Patna, and ICMR RMNIHR Patna & IC IIT.

The institutional partnership seeks to facilitate collaboration in areas including biotechnology, healthcare research, innovation, and technology development.

Additionally, the partnership is expected to create opportunities for joint research and strengthen linkages between academic and research institutions, industry, and emerging technology ventures.

The facility brings together advanced life-science laboratory infrastructure and scientific equipment, along with technical and scientific guidance.

It also supports research, prototyping, and technology validation, startup and entrepreneurship activities, and collaborative research opportunities involving academia and industry.

The facility is focused on areas including biotechnology, life sciences, healthcare, MedTech, and deep-tech, while strengthening the biotechnology and bioeconomy ecosystem in Bihar and Eastern India.

The latest partnership builds on existing efforts of the IIT Patna Innovation Centre to build healthtech technologies and advance biomedical research innovation.

Recently, IC IIT Patna signed an MoU with Netaji Subhas Medical College and Hospital (NSMCH), Amhara, Bihta, to advance biomedical research and the development of healthcare technologies.

The collaboration brings together the innovation and startup ecosystem of IC IIT Patna with NSMCH’s clinical infrastructure, healthcare expertise, research capabilities, and clinical ecosystem.
