Ayush Ministry Launches AyushSuraksha Portal for Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring

Ayush products will be monitored through this portal, unveiled by Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Prataprao Jadhav, improving transparency and accountability.
The Ministry of Ayush has launched the AyushSuraksha Portal, a centralized digital platform that aims to enhance pharmacovigilance and regulatory oversight within the traditional medicine sector.
The portal, unveiled by Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Prataprao Jadhav, is designed to monitor adverse drug reactions (ADRs) and misleading advertisements related to Ayush products, facilitating transparency and accountability.
“The AyushSuraksha Portal represents a significant advancement in pharmacovigilance and regulatory convergence within the Ayush ecosystem. The portal facilitates real-time monitoring, systematic analysis, and coordinated action on misleading advertisements and adverse drug reactions by integrating data from State Licensing Authorities, national pharmacovigilance centers, and key regulatory stakeholders. We have made it accessible to the public so that citizens can directly report misleading ads or adverse drug reactions (ADRs) via the portal,” said Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush.
Developed in compliance with the Supreme Court’s July 30, 2024, directive in Writ Petition (Civil) No. 645/2022, the portal meets the Court’s requirement for a central monitoring system. The order mandated the Union of India to establish a platform for State Licensing Authorities to report complaints, share inter-state referrals, and update enforcement actions. The Ministry implemented the system well before the Court’s June 2025 deadline.
The portal is supported technically by the Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS) and aligns with the National Pharmacovigilance Program. It integrates multiple regulatory bodies including the Ayush vertical under the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MoI&B), Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA), National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), and various State Licensing Authorities.
A pre-launch training session was conducted on April 9, 2025, chaired by Dr. Kousthubha Upadhyaya, Adviser (Ayu.), Ministry of Ayush, to prepare nodal officers for the portal’s operations.
The AyushSuraksha Portal offers consumers, healthcare professionals, and regulatory authorities a seamless reporting mechanism. It provides real-time visibility into complaint statuses and enables swift regulatory interventions.
