In his opening remarks at the side event, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of the Ministry of AYUSH, stressed the importance of ensuring the benchmarking of artificial intelligence (AI) in traditional medicine with the guidance and support of UN agencies and a comprehensive IT backbone for traditional medicine known as the "AYUSH Grid", for an integrative holistic healthcare model of service delivery.
He went on to say that one of the mandates for the upcoming WHO-Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in India is to work on data analytics and technology in traditional medicine. This will be enough to bring technology and data into traditional medicine in the coming years.
Additionally, the secretary took part in the panel discussion regarding the development of a Digital Health Ecosystem: Moving toward health-data governance frameworks that are unified and effective. He discussed the crucial aspect of digital health, the ever-increasing and widespread use of artificial intelligence in traditional medicine and healthcare.
