Apollo Hospitals Chennai Opens New Information Centre in Chattogram to Expand Global Patient Access
The centre is expected to foster closer collaboration with local healthcare providers and medical travel facilitators by coordinating clinical inputs, enabling smoother referrals, and ensuring continuity of care from initial consultation through post-treatment follow-up.
Apollo Hospitals Chennai has expanded its global patient services by opening a New Information Centre in Chattogram, Bangladesh, designed to streamline access to specialised care in India through integrated patient support and medical coordination.
This development builds on Apollo’s long-standing position as a leading destination for medical value travel in South Asia. Over the years, India, particularly cities like Chennai, has emerged as a preferred hub for advanced tertiary care, and Apollo Hospitals has been central to this ecosystem, especially in high-demand specialities such as cardiology, oncology, and neurosciences.
The newly launched centre, located in the Jamal Khan area of Chattogram, will function as a dedicated support hub for patients in Bangladesh. It will assist with doctor consultations, second opinions, treatment planning, and visa facilitation, helping reduce logistical barriers typically associated with cross-border healthcare journeys.
By offering these services locally, Apollo aims to make the process more accessible and less overwhelming for patients and their families.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr Ilankumaran Kaliamoorthy, Regional CEO, Chennai Region, Apollo Hospitals, expressed gratitude to patients from Bangladesh for their continued trust and reiterated Apollo’s focus on collaborative, patient-centric care delivery.
In addition to patient-facing services, the centre is expected to foster closer collaboration with local healthcare providers and medical travel facilitators. This includes coordinating clinical inputs, enabling smoother referrals, and ensuring continuity of care from initial consultation through post-treatment follow-up.
With this expansion, Apollo Hospitals Chennai continues to extend its international footprint, positioning the New Information Centre as a bridge between patients and advanced medical expertise, while reinforcing its role in enabling accessible, high-quality healthcare beyond geographical boundaries.
