WFNS Partners with Time Medical to Support Neurosurgical Innovation
It is aimed at supporting the development and adoption of advanced tools for neurosurgical procedures, including imaging systems and technology-enabled surgical solutions.
The World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS), through its Innovation & Technology Committee, has partnered with Time Medical Ventures to advance innovation in neurosurgery.
The collaboration seeks to combine WFNS’s global neurosurgical network with Time Medical’s expertise in medical imaging technologies.
It is aimed at supporting the development and adoption of advanced tools for neurosurgical procedures, including imaging systems and technology-enabled surgical solutions.
Time Medical Ventures, a subsidiary of Fischer Medical Ventures, focuses on developing MRI technologies, including AI-enabled and portable imaging systems. These systems are designed to support applications such as intraoperative imaging and precision-guided neurosurgery.
Under the partnership, WFNS will contribute through clinical guidance, validation, and training, while also supporting the global dissemination of these technologies. The initiative will involve neurosurgeons and institutions across different regions.
The WFNS Innovation & Technology Committee works to evaluate and promote new technologies in neurosurgery, with a focus on improving access, training, and adoption worldwide.
Svetlana Rao, director of Time Medical International Ventures said, “This collaboration represents a shared vision of advancing neurosurgical excellence through innovation, technology, and global cooperation. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Fischer Medical Ventures Limited, we remain committed to supporting transformative healthcare solutions that improve accessibility, precision, and patient outcomes across diverse healthcare systems.”
The collaboration is expected to support the integration of advanced imaging and digital tools into neurosurgical practice, particularly in regions with limited access to high-end medical infrastructure.
Prof. Dr. Iype Cherian, chairperson of the WFNS Innovation & Technology Committee, said, “For the first time in the history of the WFNS Innovation Committee, we are opening our doors to the private sector. This partnership reflects our commitment to bringing together the most innovative minds and transformative technologies to advance neurosurgical care globally. Time Medical International Ventures has demonstrated exceptional capabilities in innovation and clinical technology, making them an ideal partner as we work collectively to shape the future of neurosurgery.”
“This collaboration will help champion the development and global dissemination of cutting-edge neurosurgical solutions, facilitate knowledge exchange between leading neurosurgeons and industry experts, and support training and technology transfer initiatives in emerging markets. We believe this partnership will set a new benchmark for industry collaboration within global neurosurgical governance,” he added.
