UP Secures INR 500 Cr MedTech Investment; 12 Companies to Set Up Units in Greater Noida

Medical Excellence Japan (MEJ), DSS & SP India Healthcare, and the Government of Uttar Pradesh signed key MoUs to foster cooperation in medical technology.
The government of Uttar Pradesh has recently secured investment commitments worth INR 500 crore from 12 companies to set up manufacturing units at its Medical Device Park in the Yamuna Expressway region to strengthen medtech manufacturing.
The proposed investments are expected to enhance domestic production of advanced medical devices, generate significant employment opportunities, and contribute to India’s growing healthcare manufacturing capabilities.
The announcements were made during a recent MedTech event where companies explored investment opportunities in the state’s rapidly expanding Medical Device Park.
The initiative is part of Uttar Pradesh's broader strategy to position itself as a key destination for medical technology manufacturing under the Make in India initiative
The initiative has been guided by Alok Kumar, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, MSME & Export Promotion, Infrastructure & Industrial Development and NRI Department, and Chairman of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA).
His emphasised state’s focus on infrastructure development, ease of doing business, and timely execution has helped create an enabling environment for industrial investments in the region.
These efforts have contributed to strengthening investor confidence and accelerating the development of industrial projects in Uttar Pradesh, he noted.
Spread across 350 acres, located near the Noida International Airport and the Yamuna Expressway, the Medical Device Park is being developed to provide integrated infrastructure for manufacturers, including common facilities, logistics connectivity, and industry support. Of the 120 plots allotted so far, construction has commenced on 20 units, while one company has already started production, indicating steady progress on the ground.
A key attraction of the project is its comprehensive ecosystem of shared world-class facilities designed to reduce costs and accelerate innovation.
These include a Rapid Prototyping and Tooling Centre, IoMT and Artificial Intelligence Lab, Electronics System Design Centre, Electronic Assembly Facility, Sensor Testing and Integration Lab, Biomaterial Testing Laboratory, Calibration and Testing Centre, Common Warehouse, Digital Display and Demonstration Zone, Centre of Excellence, and an Administrative and Innovation Centre.
These facilities are expected to help manufacturers reduce initial capital expenditure while supporting faster product development and testing.
In addition, a collaboration between India–Japan was announced during the event. Medical Excellence Japan (MEJ), DSS & SP India Healthcare, and the Government of Uttar Pradesh signed key Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at fostering cooperation in medical technology, healthcare innovation, and manufacturing, further strengthening Uttar Pradesh's position as an emerging MedTech manufacturing destination.
The programme was attended by Chief Minister’s Advisor Avanish Awasthi, Additional Chief Secretary Alok Kumar, Chief Minister’s Advisor G.N., YEIDA CEO R.K. Singh, Uttar Pradesh Pharma Department Managing Director Kritika Sharma, YEIDA Additional CEO Shailendra Kumar Bhatia, along with representatives of major MedTech companies and investors.
