Tripura Opens 45-Bedded Supra Multispeciality Hospital to Expand Access to Advanced Healthcare

The hospital has also partnered with Manipal Hospital, Bengaluru, to facilitate specialist consultations, clinical expertise and advanced treatment pathways for patients requiring highly specialised care.

Tripura has expanded its healthcare infrastructure with the inauguration of the 45-bedded Supra Multispeciality Hospital in Agartala.

Inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, the facility has been established to improve access to multispeciality and superspeciality care through modern infrastructure, advanced technology and comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services.

Located at Old Motor Stand in Agartala, Supra Multispeciality Hospital has been equipped with diagnostic, surgical and critical care facilities, including X-ray, pathology, endoscopy and pharmacy services.

The hospital also houses three modular operation theatres, a six-bedded intensive care unit (ICU), a high-frequency C-arm system and a 4K Stryker laparoscopic platform designed to support complex surgical procedures.

The facility will offer both OPD and IPD services under one roof. To strengthen access to superspeciality expertise, the hospital has partnered with Manipal Hospital, Bengaluru.

The collaboration is expected to facilitate specialist consultations, clinical expertise and advanced treatment pathways for patients requiring highly specialised care.

Details of the association were shared by Dr Manish Rai, Zonal Hospital Director, Bengaluru, and Ram Gopal Bardhan, Chief Manager, International Healthcare Services.

Addressing the inauguration, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said, "The present Government is a welfare government. Prioritising welfare and development of the people of all sections, the government is implementing various developmental programmes."

Speaking about the state's healthcare progress, he added, "The state has seen remarkable improvement in its healthcare system after implementation of several infrastructure projects during the last few years.”

“The digital healthcare service, telemedicine facility, trauma centre, transplantation service, etc. have expanded over the years,” he added.

He also noted that the bed capacity of GBP Hospital has increased to 1,413 and reiterated the government's efforts to reduce the need for patients to seek treatment outside the state.
