Park Medi World Expands North India Footprint with 330-Bed Rudrapur Medicity Hospital, Acquires Punjab's Mehar Hospital for INR 107 Cr
Park Medi World also expects to optimise workflows, improve bed utilisation, and create long-term value through greater scale across its network.
Park Medi World has expanded its North India presence by launching the 330-bed Medicity Hospital in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand, and announcing the acquisition of Mehar Hospital in Zirakpur, Punjab, for INR 107 Cr, adding capacity across two strategic healthcare markets.
The Rudrapur facility is Park Medi World's first hospital in Uttarakhand and has been positioned as the largest hospital in the Kumaon region.
Equipped to provide tertiary and quaternary care services, the multi-super speciality hospital has been established to address increasing demand for advanced healthcare in a region that has historically had limited access to specialised medical services.
The addition also extends Park Medi World's operational presence to six states across North India.
Founded in 1982, Park Group of Hospitals has steadily expanded its presence across North India through a combination of greenfield developments and strategic acquisitions.
The group currently operates 17 hospitals with around 4,300 beds across multiple cities and has outlined plans to increase its capacity to nearly 5,600 beds by March 2028 by integrating additional hospitals and expanding existing facilities.
Dr Ankit Gupta, Managing Director, Park Medi World, said, "The launch of 'The Medicity Hospital,’ Rudrapur represents a landmark milestone in Park Hospital's aggressive expansion strategy, further cementing our position as the dominant multi-super speciality healthcare platform across North India. With this addition, we have successfully established 'The Medicity Hospital' as the definitive comprehensive healthcare destination for the entire Kumaon region, a large, underpenetrated market with significant untapped demand.”
“This milestone is a direct execution of our disciplined, high-growth strategy of building centres of excellence in tertiary and quaternary care, further strengthening our integrated, multi-state healthcare network and enhancing our scale, referral synergies, and competitive moat across North India. We remain firmly committed to compounding shareholder value through continued strategic expansion into high-potential markets," he added.
Alongside its entry into Uttarakhand, Park Medi World has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Mehar Hospital in Zirakpur, Punjab, through an all-cash transaction valued at INR 107 Cr.
The 150-plus-bed multi-super speciality hospital serves Zirakpur and the wider Tricity region, one of North India's fastest-growing urban clusters.
Following completion of the acquisition, the hospital is expected to operate under the Park brand from November 2026.
The acquisition is expected to strengthen its presence in Punjab while improving operational synergies and expanding tertiary and quaternary care services across the region.
Park Medi World also expects to optimise workflows, improve bed utilisation, and create long-term value through greater scale across its network.
