Hippocratic AI Introduces AI Front Door & AI Voice Assistant to Transform Patient Access & Nursing Workflows

AI Front Door is positioned as a unified, voice-enabled patient interface that replaces traditional call centres and fragmented digital entry points, while AI Voice Assistant handles admission education, patient education, caregiver preparation, and medication adherence guidance.

Hippocratic AI, a California-based AI healthtech startup, has introduced two new AI-powered solutions, AI Front Door and a nurse-focused AI Voice Assistant, designed to streamline patient access and reduce workload for clinical staff.

Digital front doors” were introduced to simplify access, but they have often resulted in disjointed experiences involving multiple platforms, long wait times, and repeated interactions. At the same time, nurses, who form the largest segment of the healthcare workforce, have seen limited direct benefit from earlier waves of healthcare AI focused primarily on physicians and administrative efficiency.

"For all of healthcare's history, care has been designed around the assumption of scarcity," said Munjal Shah, CEO and co-founder of Hippocratic AI. "AI Front Door and Nurse Co-Pilot change that equation. One gives every patient a personal health agent. The other gives every nurse an AI assistant. Together, they put healthcare leaders in control of a shift from scarcity to abundance."

"There's never been enough time in a shift to reach every patient the way you want to," said Amy McCarthy, Chief Nursing Officer, Hippocratic AI. "Nurse Co-Pilot gives nurses an AI assistant that ensures every patient gets the follow-up they need, while giving nurses time back for hands-on care."

AI Front Door

AI Front Door is positioned as a unified, voice-enabled patient interface that replaces traditional call centres and fragmented digital entry points. It enables patients to manage multiple needs, such as appointment scheduling, billing queries, lab follow-ups, and care coordination, within a single, continuous interaction.

The system is designed to retain context across conversations and channels, allowing patients to move seamlessly between phone, text, and app-based communication without restarting the process.

Beyond handling queries, the AI Front Door extends into care coordination by assisting with referrals, transportation, and other logistical elements that often disrupt care continuity. It also supports caregivers and family members by keeping them informed and involved in care updates.

The system has already begun deployment with early partners, including WellSpan and Cincinnati Children’s.

Nurse Co-Pilot

The second product, a nurse-focused AI Voice Assistant called Nurse Co-Pilot, has been developed in collaboration with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Centre, OhioHealth, and Cleveland Clinic.

It targets routine but time-intensive inpatient workflows such as admission education, patient education, caregiver preparation, and medication adherence guidance.

Through integration with electronic health records, nurses can initiate AI-driven patient calls without requiring additional apps. The system documents each interaction automatically, generating structured summaries and transcripts while keeping nurses in full control of clinical decisions.

Each workflow handled by the AI typically saves 10-15 minutes, translating into up to four hours per nurse per shift, depending on usage.

Both solutions are powered by Hippocratic AI’s Polaris safety architecture, which the company states has been validated through over 180 million patient interactions with high clinical accuracy and no severe harm events reported.
