Cotecna Group Acquires Energon Labs to Expand Pharmaceutical Testing in India

Energon Labs will complement Cotecna Group’s existing pharmaceutical testing network, which includes Cotecna Life Sciences, Shiva Analyticals and Neotron Pharma.

Geneva-based Cotecna Group has acquired Energon Labs, a Hyderabad-based analytical testing laboratory, to expand its pharmaceutical testing capabilities in India and strengthen its global Life Sciences platform, bringing additional laboratory infrastructure, scientific expertise, and regulatory testing services to Cotecna’s network.

Energon Labs operates as a cGMP-compliant, USFDA-inspected analytical testing laboratory and holds ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17025:2017 certifications. Its location provides Cotecna Group access to specialised scientific talent and laboratory infrastructure within an established pharmaceutical and biotechnology ecosystem.

Energon Labs offers services including analytical method development and validation, stability studies, impurity profiling, raw material and finished product testing, and packaging compatibility studies.

Its capabilities also cover extractables and leachables, glass delamination studies, peptide and oligonucleotide characterization, in vitro binding studies, and regulatory support.

These services are expected to expand Cotecna Group’s ability to support pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and medical device companies across India and international markets.

The acquisition is also intended to improve service responsiveness, scalability and operational efficiency.

Energon Labs will complement Cotecna Group’s existing pharmaceutical testing network, which includes Cotecna Life Sciences, Shiva Analyticals and Neotron Pharma.

The expanded network is designed to support customers across product development and manufacturing while addressing changing quality, compliance and regulatory requirements.
