This initiative signifies a proactive stance, emphasizing continuous monitoring to detect and address clinical deterioration at an early stage.

To advance cardiac care in India, BM Birla Heart Hospital, a NABH-accredited healthcare institution, has introduced the 'Enhanced Cardiac Care' program in collaboration with healthtech startup Dozee,

The 'Enhanced Cardiac Care' program marks a pivotal shift towards a digital-first approach in healthcare. This initiative emphasizes continuous monitoring to detect and address clinical deterioration at an early stage.

By integrating Dozee's AI-powered contactless remote patient monitoring (RPM) and early warning system (EWS) into all ward beds, BM Birla Heart Hospital aims to reinvent the traditional cardiac care model.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr Anjan Siotia, director of the cardiology Department at BM Birla Heart Hospital, Kolkata, said, "The introduction of the Enhanced Cardiac Care program in collaboration with Dozee represents a significant leap forward in achieving our mission of providing world-class cardiac care with a patient-centric approach."

Partnership with Dozee

Dozee's technology enables healthcare providers to remotely monitor vital signs such as heart rate, respiration rate, blood pressure, SPO2 levels, temperature, and ECG without physical contact with the patient.

Further, the EWS tracks trends in these vital parameters, alerting healthcare professionals to any signs of clinical deterioration and thereby facilitating timely intervention.

According to the hospital, Dozee's technology, based on AI-driven Ballistocardiography (BCG), significantly benefits patient safety, clinical outcomes, and operational efficiency.

Gaurav Parchani, CTO and cofounder, Dozee, said, "We are thrilled to collaborate with BM Birla Heart Hospital to pioneer advancements in cardiac care. Together, we are reshaping the landscape of cardiac care, ensuring that patient safety remains paramount."

The partnership between BM Birla Heart Hospital and Dozee aims to enhance patient safety, improve clinical outcomes, and streamline operational efficiency.

Sharing insights, Supratik DeSarkar, unit head, BM Birla Heart Hospital, said, "By partnering with Dozee, we are enhancing our capabilities to deliver proactive and personalized care to our patients.”

Recent Developments in Remote Patient Monitoring

In a related development, Jayadev Memorial Rashtrotthana Hospital & Research Centre in Bengaluru adopted Dozee's AI-based contactless patient monitoring and early warning system.

The technology assisted in contactless monitoring thereby improving patient outcomes and streamlining healthcare delivery.

KIMS Hospitals in Kondapur recently introduced the 'Enhanced Patient Safety with Smart Wards' program, integrating Dozee's AI-based contactless remote patient monitoring and early warning system into 25% of the hospital's beds.

Previously, Mangalore-based AJ Hospital and Research Centre adopted Dozee's AI-based RPM and EWS. The hospital integrated its ambulatory-connected patient monitoring systems into non-ICU ward beds, allowing for continuous contactless monitoring of vital signs.
