AIIMS Institutions Emerging as Healthcare Innovation Hubs: Nadda

The Health Minister noted that AIIMS institutions are actively preparing medical professionals for future healthcare challenges through modern educational tools.
Every AIIMS institute is evolving as a hub for healthcare innovation, advanced learning, and region-specific medical solutions, Union Health Minister J P Nadda said recently.
He emphasized that each AIIMS is strategically located to address regional disparities and deliver affordable, evidence-based healthcare services to citizens.
Speaking virtually at the inaugural edition of the 'Best Practices' conclave hosted by AIIMS Nagpur, Nadda highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening public health systems and nurturing the next generation of healthcare leaders.
The two-day conclave brought together AIIMS institutions from Bhopal, Jammu, Bilaspur, Jodhpur, Deoghar, Patna, Gorakhpur, Guwahati, Raipur, and Nagpur, along with the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) and the Ministry of Defence. The meet showcased best practices in patient care, digital transformation, operational efficiency, and academic research.
Underlining the pivotal role of AIIMS institutes, Nadda said, “Each AIIMS, established as an institute of national importance, integrates advanced clinical care, high-quality medical education and research excellence.”
Applauding AIIMS Nagpur’s leadership, he remarked, “It is encouraging to see AIIMS Nagpur taking a lead and organising the first conclave on best practices.”
The Health Minister noted that AIIMS institutions are actively preparing medical professionals for future healthcare challenges through modern educational tools.
“In the domain of teaching-learning, adoption of competency-based medical education curriculum, investment in digital learning, state-of-the-art simulation laboratories and implementation of structured mentorship programmes signal a deep commitment to educational excellence,” Nadda said.
He also acknowledged the increasing scientific contributions from new AIIMS campuses. “New AIIMS are increasingly contributing to India’s scientific advancement through regionally relevant studies, ethical clinical trials and translational research,” he said.
Applauding the push for collaborative solutions, he remarked, “It is encouraging to see the efforts to foster interdisciplinary collaborations, as these will be key to solve complex public health problems in the years to come.”
On the patient care front, Nadda stressed that AIIMS hospitals are raising benchmarks in treatment quality and access. “AIIMS campuses are redefining patient care by offering high-quality, evidence-based and affordable treatment through advanced infrastructure and a wide spectrum of specialties,” he stated.
He further pointed out the importance of technology-led, patient-focused governance. “Use of e-governance tools, transparent administrative frameworks, and patient-focused innovations such as Jan Aushadhi Kendras, digital registration systems and dedicated helpdesks demonstrate that efficiency and compassion can coexist in public healthcare settings,” Nadda said.
