AI to Power Haryana’s 112 Emergency Response from July

AI-powered auto-dispatch systems will replace the manual process to slash delays and improve medical emergency response times.
The Haryana 112 Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) is set for a major technology upgrade. AI-powered auto-dispatch systems will replace the manual process to slash delays and improve medical emergency response times.
The AI-based dispatch will launch on a pilot basis in July 2025.
Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi was briefed on the development during a review meeting, attended by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Sumita Misra, ACS (Health and Family Welfare) Sudhir Rajpal, DGP Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor, and senior officials.
Officials shared that since its launch, ERSS has handled over 2.31 Cr calls, dispatching 46.6 lakh vehicles for emergencies.
Moreover, the performance data for April 2025 highlighted a steady rise in calls and improved response metrics.
In April 2025 alone, 6.1 lakh calls were attended to, up from 5.3 lakh in 2024 and 4.7 lakh in 2022. The dispatch rate has also climbed to 30% of attended calls in 2025, from 24% in 2024 and 17% in 2022.
Notably, response times have seen sharp improvements:
Police response time reduced from 12:04 minutes (2022) to 7:03 minutes (2025)
Medical emergency response improved from 25:44 minutes (2022) to 12:50 minutes (2025)
Fire service response time held steady at around 32:50 minutes.
Additional Chief Secretary Sumita Misra stressed the importance of hospital mapping in all districts to ensure prompt treatment for road accident victims.
She also highlighted the success of the Trip Monitoring Service (TMS) launched in November 2023 for women’s travel safety.
The service allows women to share live locations via WhatsApp with two dedicated desks at the state emergency response center.
As per reports, over 300 trips have been successfully monitored to date.
