4baseCare Partners With Cancer Institute to Expand Precision Oncology Access Across Chennai

The collaboration combines the Institute’s patient-centric cancer care ecosystem with 4baseCare’s expertise in comprehensive genomic profiling and precision oncology.

4baseCare, a precision oncology startup based in Bengaluru, has partnered with the Cancer Institute (WIA), Adyar, Chennai, to expand access to advanced genomic testing for cancer patients.

The collaboration combines the Institute’s patient-centric cancer care ecosystem with 4baseCare’s expertise in comprehensive genomic profiling and precision oncology.

The initiative seeks to bring advanced molecular testing closer to the point of care for patients while advancing accessibility and affordability for precision oncology services.

Commenting on the collaboration, Dr Kalpana Balakrishnan, Medical Director and CEO, Cancer Institute (WIA), Adyar, said, Cancer Institute (WIA) has always been committed to providing quality cancer care that is accessible to patients. By bringing advanced genomic testing closer to our patients, this collaboration will help strengthen the role of molecular insights in cancer care while keeping patient needs at the forefront.”

The partnership also marks 4baseCare’s first laboratory collaboration with a cancer centre in Chennai, expanding its network of healthcare institutions and collaborative laboratories across India.

Genomic profiling can provide insights into the molecular characteristics of a patient’s tumour and help oncologists identify relevant genomic alterations.

The findings are expected to support treatment decisions, including consideration of targeted therapies and clinical trial opportunities where appropriate.

Hitesh Goswami, Co-Founder and CEO, 4baseCare said, “Precision oncology can have its greatest impact when advanced genomic testing is accessible to the patients who need it. Our collaboration with Cancer Institute (WIA) is an important step towards making comprehensive genomic testing more accessible and affordable, particularly for patients in Chennai and the wider region.”

Recently, the Bengaluru-based precision oncology startup closed its Series B funding at INR 128 crore, including a fresh top-up round of INR 38 crore led by growX Ventures and Infosys, with participation from existing investors.

The fresh capital will be leveraged to expand its genomics laboratory network globally and scale its AI-led oncology platform, OncoTwin.
