Arizona-based medical device firm Align Technology has announced plans to establish a manufacturing facility in Hyderabad with an investment of around INR 1,800 crore.

The latest facility marks the first manufacturing facility in India and is aimed at expanding its presence in India’s healthcare and medical technology sector.

The manufacturing unit is expected to commence operations in 2027 and generate more than 300 direct jobs over the next several years.

The upcoming facility is expected to serve as a major global manufacturing and operations hub, contributing to the company’s worldwide production capacity of nearly one million unique clear aligner parts per day.

The proposed facility seeks to support large-scale production by leveraging 3D printing, advanced manufacturing systems, digital technologies, and precision engineering capabilities.

It is expected to advance substantial strategic value to Telangana’s rapidly growing MedTech and precision manufacturing ecosystem.

Reportedly, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the project was signed between Jitse Marree, Senior Vice President at Align Technology, and Sarvesh Singh, CEO of Telangana Life Sciences, in the presence of the State's Minister of IT Duddilla Sridhar Babu.

Commenting on the new initiative, Sridhar Babu said, “Align Technology’s decision to plan its India manufacturing presence in Telangana reflects the growing global confidence in our state’s strengths across MedTech, life sciences, precision manufacturing, and healthcare innovation. Hyderabad has steadily evolved into one of the world’s leading life sciences and healthcare ecosystems, supported by world-class research institutions, advanced manufacturing capabilities, strong digital infrastructure, and a highly skilled talent base. From vaccines and biotechnology to medical devices and next-generation healthcare technologies, Telangana today offers a complete ecosystem for global companies looking to innovate and manufacture at scale. This investment further strengthens Hyderabad’s position as a global hub for advanced healthcare and MedTech manufacturing.”

The proposed facility complements Align Technology’s existing presence in Hyderabad, which includes its GCC, the Align Innovation Centre (AIC).

The latest investment is also expected to strengthen Telangana’s MedTech and advanced healthcare manufacturing ecosystem by supporting innovation, skilled employment generation, and ancillary industries in the region.
