The collaboration has also marked the launch of a dedicated research centre that aims to develop affordable, accurate, and accessible diagnostic technologies for diseases with significant public health impact.

Uttarakhand-based Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU) and Vionix Biosciences, a Delhi-based medical diagnostics company, have signed a strategic partnership to advance artificial intelligence-powered spectral diagnostics and translational healthcare research.

The collaboration has also marked the launch of a dedicated research centre that aims to develop affordable, accurate, and accessible diagnostic technologies for diseases with significant public health impact.

Prof. (Dr.) A. K. Deorari, Pro Vice Chancellor, SRHU, emphasized that the collaboration should focus on proof-of-concept studies, disease modelling, collaborative research projects, advanced diagnostics, and joint protocol development with active participation of SRHU researchers.

He expressed confidence that the partnership would create new opportunities for high-quality translational research and innovation.

Vivek Wadhwa, Chief Executive Officer, Vionix Biosciences, outlined several key areas of collaboration, including AI-enabled diagnostic technologies, cancer diagnostics, disease diagnosis, water quality testing, microplastic detection, environmental monitoring, and advanced analytical technologies.

He reaffirmed Vionix Biosciences' commitment to working closely with SRHU to develop next-generation healthcare solutions.

A key outcome of the partnership is the inauguration of the Himalayan Centre of Spectral Intelligence at HIMS, SRHU.

The multidisciplinary facility will initially focus on AI-driven rapid detection of urinary tract infections (UTIs) and is expected to expand its work into cancer diagnostics, infectious diseases, toxicology, environmental health, and water quality assessment.

Beyond research, the SRHU-Vionix Biosciences collaboration is expected to support clinical validation, technology transfer, protocol development, innovation in AI-enabled diagnostics, and capacity building, strengthening industry-academia collaboration while advancing precision healthcare research in India.
