The newly launched facility is specifically designed to satisfy the increasing need for superior eye treatment. It can treat more than 1000 patients daily.

In a move towards expanding its eye care services, Sharp Sight Eye Hospitals, a leading name in eye care, has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art Outpatient Department (OPD) facility in New Delhi.

The newly launched facility is specifically designed to satisfy the increasing need for superior eye treatment. It can treat more than 1000 patients daily.

Moreover, the facility will serve as a hub for clinical research and training, fostering innovation and promoting the exchange of knowledge among medical professionals.

At the inaugural event, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said, "The efforts of institutions like Sharp Sight Eye Hospitals align with the government's commitment to enhancing eye care infrastructure across the nation. Through our initiatives, we are witnessing a substantial reduction in preventable blindness and an increase in the accessibility of quality eye care, especially in rural and underserved areas.’’

This newly built facility aligns with the hospital’s goal to offer world-class eye care services while providing novel eyecare solutions.

Decoding The New OPD Facility

The new facility is equipped with cutting-edge technology and advanced medical equipment, ensuring that patients receive top-notch eye care. Moreover, the facility is designed to provide a comfortable and efficient patient experience, featuring spacious waiting areas, well-appointed consultation rooms, and modern surgical suites.

Further, the facility is equipped with Femto Robotic Cataract Surgery, which leverages Al technology to enhance cataract screening, and contemporary EDOF lenses. In addition, the institution provides comprehensive care for corneal transplants, glaucoma management, myopia control, and vitreo retina.

On the occasion, Dr Samir Sud, medical director & cofounder, Sharp Sight Eye Hospitals, said, "The opening of our new centre in New Delhi is a major milestone in our journey towards excellence in eye care. With the capability to serve more than 1000 patients daily, we are equipped to address the growing demand for quality eye treatment."

Eye Care: A Growing Digital Healthcare Horizon

The expansion comes at a time when the demand for quality eye care services is on the rise. The ageing population and the escalating incidence of eye conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration underscore the heightened importance of specialised eye care.

As per reports, at least 2.2 billion people have near or distant vision impairment across the world. While at least one billion of these cases could have been prevented or can be easily addressed with spectacles or cataract surgery.

Currently, vision impairment poses an enormous global financial burden, with an estimated $ 411 billion lost in workplace productivity due to poor vision.

Sharp Sight Eye Hospitals has always been at the forefront of ophthalmic care, offering a wide range of services including cataract surgery, refractive surgery, cornea services, glaucoma treatment, pediatric ophthalmology, and more.

Since its inception, Sharp Sight Eye Hospitals has treated over 20 lakh patients across its 15 centres, establishing itself as a leader in eye care. Going forward, Sharp Sight plans to open another 25 hospitals in Tier-II cities of North and East India, including an upcoming major project in Kolkata.

With the addition of this new facility, Sharp Sight is poised to enhance its service offerings further and cater to a larger patient population.
