Rainbow Children’s Medicare Expands Footprint in Bengaluru with New Hospital

The hospital facility is designed as a hub and spoke model within its RCML, Bengaluru network, which is expected to complement the Marathahalli hub by enabling referral linkages, clinical standardisation, and efficient utilisation across the network.

Rainbow Children’s Medicare, India’s prominent Healthcare entity, has announced the expansion of its Bengaluru healthcare network with the addition of a new hospital.

The expansion initiative includes a 60-bed spoke hospital located at HRBR Layout, Hennur Junction, developed at an investment of INR 42 Crore.

In addition, a dedicated IVF centre under the BirthRight Fertility brand has been developed at Mahadevapura.

As per reports, the combined project cost for both facilities is estimated at around INR 52 Crore and has been funded entirely through internal accruals.

The 60-bed hospital facility is intended to provide a wide range of women and child healthcare services, including obstetrics and gynaecology, neonatal and paediatric intensive care, 24x7 emergency services, and consultant-led specialty paediatric clinics.

The hospital facility is designed as a hub and spoke model within its RCML, Bengaluru network, which is expected to complement the Marathahalli hub by enabling referral linkages, clinical standardisation, and efficient utilisation across the network.

With the new addition, the company’s total bed capacity has increased to approximately 2,435 beds.

Further, the new IVF Centre seeks to provide a comprehensive suite of services across diagnostics, assisted reproduction, and complex fertility treatments.

With the new launch, Rainbow Children's Medicare will operate a network of 15 IVF centres, with Bengaluru expected to emerge as a key growth engine alongside Hyderabad.

Founded in 1999, the company has expanded its presence through strategic expansion in major cities, including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai.

Currently, the hospital chain operates a network of 24 hospitals and 6 clinics in 9 cities with a total bed capacity of approximately 2,435 beds (including the HRBR Hospital, Bengaluru).

The new expansion seeks to further consolidate its footprint in Bengaluru and enhance specialized care services, including maternal, paediatric, and fertility care services.

Commenting on the new initiative, Dr. Ramesh Kancharla, Chairman and Managing Director, said, "We are pleased to expand our Bengaluru network with the launch of the HRBR hospital and the Mahadevapura IVF centre, further strengthening our presence in high-growth micro-markets. These additions enhance access to integrated pediatric, obstetric, and fertility services for a young and evolving urban population.”

“Leveraging our hub-and-spoke model and the BirthRight by Rainbow platform, we continue to deliver consistent clinical outcomes with a strong focus on quality and specialization. This expansion reflects our disciplined approach to growth and commitment to long-term value creation,” he added.
