President Flags Off High-Tech Cancer Unit at Ganga Ram Hospital

The Cancer Center aims to provide ethical, affordable care by uniting all oncology services under one roof.

President Droupadi Murmu has inaugurated a new cancer care center in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, seeking to become the one-stop center for cancer diagnosis, treatment, and long-term care.

Equipped with advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, the facility is designed to offer a personalized and multidisciplinary treatment to cancer patients.

The newly-inaugurated comprehensive cancer care center brings together medical, surgical and radiation oncology, along with day-care chemotherapy, in one integrated centre.

Sharing thoughts, Dr D S Rana, chairman of the Sir Ganga Ram Trust Society, said, “For the past 50 years, the hospital has been run by a dedicated Board of Management consisting of 25 eminent doctors. We are proud to follow a sustainable, charity-based healthcare model. The Cancer Care Centre is not just an infrastructure milestone, it is a reflection of our dream to serve more communities and eventually establish SGRH Medical College.”

The hospital authorities said the President's visit acknowledged their commitment to providing ethical, affordable and quality healthcare spanning over 70 years.

Dr Ajay Swaroop, chairman of the board of management, said the center had the most advanced diagnostic, therapeutic, and after-care services for all types of cancer cases.
