Spread across nearly 50 acres, the centrally air-conditioned hospital campus has been equipped with advanced medical infrastructure and a wide range of speciality departments.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has inaugurated the newly developed 650-bed teaching hospital campus at Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada, bringing advanced healthcare facilities closer to residents of northern Odisha.

The modern facility is expected to strengthen clinical services, support medical education, and enhance the state's capacity to deliver specialised and critical care.

Chief Minister Majhi stated, "This state-of-the-art hospital is not merely a structure of concrete, but the dawn of a new era in the healthcare sector of northern Odisha. It will now serve as a major pillar in the medical system of this region, through which the residents of the area will be freed from the financial and physical struggles of travelling far for better treatment, and they will be able to access modern healthcare facilities right in their own soil."

Spread across nearly 50 acres, the centrally air-conditioned hospital campus has been equipped with advanced medical infrastructure, including 10 intensive care units, multiple operation theatres, emergency and trauma care facilities, pathology laboratories, diagnostic centres, and a wide range of speciality departments.

Services will be available across disciplines such as internal medicine, orthopaedics, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, dental care, and other clinical specialities.

The facility is expected to serve patients from Baripada and neighbouring districts, reducing the burden of travel to larger cities for advanced treatment.

By bringing specialised services closer to local communities, the hospital aims to improve healthcare outcomes while reducing both the financial and logistical challenges often associated with accessing tertiary care.

The inauguration follows another recent public engagement by the Chief Minister, where he highlighted Odisha's focus on resilience and sustainable development during the BRICS Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group Technical Meeting in Puri.
