Medtronic, Philips Partner to Improve Patient Monitoring Access

The strategic partnership will integrate Medtronic’s next-generation technologies into Philips’ monitoring systems, creating a more streamlined solution for healthcare providers.

Medtronic and Philips, two global leaders in healthcare technology, has announced a strategic collaboration in patient monitoring, focusing on improving patient care and expanding access to technology.

The new strategic partnership involves integrating next-generation technologies from Medtronic into Philips’ monitoring solutions.

Philips’ patient monitoring systems, which currently incorporate world-class Medtronic technology, include Nellcor pulse oximetry, Microstream capnography, and BIS brain monitoring.

Under the deal, Philips will also pack required supplies such as NIBP, batteries, and an electrocardiogram (ECG) with Philips Medtronic-enabled monitors.

This combined offering helps better meet the needs of clinicians around the globe through expanded equipment access to the latest technology and through joint training and education programs designed to improve patient care.

Reinforcing their dedication to high-quality, safe monitoring, the two companies are also establishing a pledge program to ensure that every integrated technology is validated clinically, protected by cybersecurity, and prepared for frontline clinical usage.

Sachin Chaudhari, vice president and general manager, Clinical Applications and Devices, Philips Hospital Patient Monitoring said, “By providing a comprehensive monitoring solution that is validated throughout all stages, we’re supporting clinicians’ heavy workloads and complex patient cases by providing tools that can help address the daily challenges care teams face.”

Since 1992, Medtronic and Philips have collaborated to deliver combined technologies for individual monitoring parameters.

Building on this foundation, the new partnership integrates Philips’ patient- and people-centric innovation with Medtronic’s advanced technologies to offer more comprehensive, connected monitoring solutions for healthcare providers.
