Labcorp & Epic Expand Collaboration to Advance Diagnostic Integration

Through the latest expansion, Labcorp's full test menu will be integrated into Aura, Epic's unified platform for ordering and receiving lab results.

US-based Labcorp and Epic have announced the expansion of their collaboration aimed at advancing diagnostic integration across hospitals and health systems.

The expanded collaboration is focused on strengthening connectivity between laboratory diagnostics and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Through the latest expansion, Labcorp's full test menu will be integrated into Aura, Epic's unified platform for ordering and receiving lab results.

Sharing thoughts on the latest initiative, Sumit Rana, President of Epic, said, "Expanding Labcorp's use of Aura to include its full test menu makes it easy for clinicians to order the right test the first time, right from their workflow, so patients get accurate answers faster."

The integration is expected to improve operational efficiencies, streamline lab ordering for clinicians and care teams, and expand access to diagnostic innovation for hospitals and health systems using Epic nationwide.

By leveraging Epic's Aura, the initiative aims to reduce the time, cost and ongoing maintenance typically required for lab interfaces.

The expansion is built on already available Invitae genetic tests through Aura, which is part of Labcorp's diagnostic portfolio.

It further seeks to enable Health systems to access Labcorp's full test menu, including new tests introduced directly within their existing Epic workflows.

Commenting on the latest development, Bryan Vaughn, Executive Vice President and President of Diagnostics at Labcorp, said, "This expanded collaboration reflects how Labcorp is investing to meet the evolving needs of hospitals and health systems. By simplifying lab integrations and delivering our full test menu directly within Epic workflows, we are expanding access and building a strong foundation for continued innovation."

The integration is designed to simplify onboarding and maintenance by leveraging Aura's connectivity and content‑management capabilities, alongside reducing integration complexity for hospitals and health systems.

In addition, the collaboration is intended to provide clinicians with seamless access to order Labcorp tests and receive discrete results directly within their Epic workflow, improving efficiency and reducing reliance on manual processes.
