Insight Health Unveils AI Assistants to Streamline Clinical Workflow

Lumi, Insight Health’s flagship agent, uses voice or text to collect patient history, update medication lists, and handle follow-up appointments, increasing clinical throughput.

Insight Health, a US-based startup that has launched out of stealth, has introduced patient-facing artificial intelligence agents designed to automate routine clinical workflows.

The new AI agent, Lumi, communicates directly with patients via voice or text to gather their detailed, disease-specific histories and update their medication lists.

By delivering intake and post-visit follow-up support, Lumi aims to ease administrative burdens, increase clinical throughout, and flag any concerning developments for provider review.

Lumi is also trained to understand terminology, assess medical conditions accurately and recognize emergencies on time to ensure immediate medical help to the patients.

The AI model also provides insights into call volume, peak times, and common patient concerns to optimize operations while ensuring comprehensive security protocols.

Over the past year, the company has built out other agents to process incoming referrals, for chart pep and an AI scribe tool.

Jaimal Soni, co-founder and CEO of Insight Health, said, “We're building a clinical co-pilot that pairs with the patient and the provider across that continuum of care. It has a safety net in place if it needs to be escalated or routed accordingly. We always have a clinician in the loop, but it offloads that clinical side to this virtual care agent.”

Additionally, the company’s agents have handled more than 100,000 clinical conversations and about 1,500 clinicians across multiple specialties are using the platform daily, the company said.

Founded in 2023, by two doctors and two product leaders with experience at Twilio and Segment. Since its inception, Insight Health has rapidly established itself as a key innovator in AI clinical agents.

With tools like Aura AI Scribe and the VCA integrated into major EHR platforms, Insight Health is helping providers reduce administrative load, boost efficiency, and improve patient engagement while delivering measurable clinical and operational benefits.
