HCG & ACI Join Hands to Strengthen Cancer Care Access Across Mumbai

As part of the agreement, both healthcare providers will leverage their professional expertise, infrastructure, technology, and clinical capabilities to develop an integrated model of cancer care.

HCG Cancer Hospital, Colaba , and Asian Cancer Institute (ACI), Cumballa Hill Hospital have announced a strategic collaboration to strengthen access to  advanced, comprehensive, and integrated cancer care for patients across Mumbai and beyond.

As part of the agreement, both healthcare providers will leverage their professional expertise, infrastructure, technology, and clinical capabilities to develop an integrated model of cancer care.

Commenting on the latest partnership, Dr. B.S. Ajaikumar, Non-Executive Chairman, HealthCare Global Enterprises Limited, said, “At HCG, we have always believed in ‘adding life to years’ as one of our key philosophies when approaching cancer treatment. Throughout the years, we have always strived to utilize sophisticated technology and provide access to the best treatments for patients. Through this partnership, we are aiming to simplify the cancer journey for patients by reducing fragmentation between different stages of treatment and ensuring greater coordination among specialists.”

The initiative is intended to cover clinical services as well as patient navigation, coordinated care pathways, and academic and knowledge-sharing activities.

The collaboration will focus on multidisciplinary cancer treatment, tumour board-based decision-making, advanced surgical, medical and radiation oncology, precision and personalised treatment approaches, advanced diagnostics and pathology support, and improved access to specialised cancer technologies.

According to the institutions, the collaboration seeks to create a continuum of care spanning early diagnosis, multidisciplinary evaluation, surgery, medical and radiation oncology, advanced diagnostics, supportive care, rehabilitation and survivorship.

Through the agreement, the two organisations plan to establish standardised clinical pathways and multidisciplinary collaboration to improve coordination across different stages of cancer treatment.

Sharing further insights on the collaboration, Dr. Ramakant Deshpande, Executive Chairman, Asian Cancer Institute, said, “Our objective is very clear- to provide world-class comprehensive cancer treatment with the patient at the centre of everything we do. The collaboration is also expected to progressively explore opportunities to expand cancer services, strengthen specialist networks, and introduce additional treatment capabilities while addressing the changing needs of cancer patients in Mumbai and the wider region.
