Fischer Medical's Time Medical India Brings AI-Powered Intraoperative MRI Suite to Parul Sevashram Hospital

The integrated platform combines AI, augmented reality (AR), machine learning (ML), exoscope technology, neurophysiology navigation, machine vision and robotics within a unified surgical workflow.

Chennai-based Time Medical India, the wholly owned subsidiary of Fischer Medical Ventures, a medtech company, has partnered with Parul Sevashram Hospital in Vadodara to deploy the DRIS-iMRI Medharanya Suite.

The AI-enabled intraoperative MRI system combines advanced imaging and intelligent surgical technologies to help neurosurgeons make real-time decisions during complex brain procedures while strengthening academic training at Parul University.

The DRIS-iMRI Medharanya platform is being jointly developed by Time Medical India in collaboration with Dr Iype Cherian, an internationally recognised neurosurgeon known for his contributions to skull base and vascular neurosurgery.

Developed with inputs from practising surgeons, the platform aims to address real-world challenges encountered during complex neurosurgical procedures by combining imaging, intelligent software and surgical navigation into a single ecosystem.

Svetlana Rao, Director at Time Medical India, stated, "This collaboration is expected to enhance neurosurgical precision, improve clinical outcomes, and strengthen advanced neurocare capabilities at the hospital."

Unlike conventional MRI systems that are primarily used before or after surgery, the DRIS-iMRI Medharanya Suite has been designed for use inside the operating theatre.

It enables surgeons to visualise the brain in real time without shifting the patient, allowing them to assess tumour removal, identify anatomical changes, and make informed decisions while surgery is still in progress.

The integrated platform combines AI, augmented reality (AR), machine learning (ML), exoscope technology, neurophysiology navigation, machine vision and robotics within a unified surgical workflow.

According to Time Medical India, integrating diagnostic imaging with surgical guidance can help reduce interruptions during procedures, improve navigation through complex neurological structures, and enhance overall surgical control.

The technology has been developed with a focus on simplifying clinical workflows while improving accuracy during intricate brain operations.
