DataLEADS, JanAI Plan 100 Swasth AI Hubs to Advance Rural Healthcare Innovation
DataLEADS will contribute its experience in trusted information, AI readiness, global health, and digital trust and safety, while JanAI will bring its focus on inclusive AI adoption through local-language and community-based solutions.
DataLEADS, a Delhi-based information and technology company, and JanAI, a Bengaluru-based AI company, have signed an MoU to establish a proposed network of 100 Swasth AI Hubs across India, primarily in rural districts.
The initiative aims to connect healthcare institutions, frontline health workers, and technology innovators to explore responsible AI applications that address local healthcare challenges.
The proposed 100 Swasth AI Hubs will serve as platforms for AI training, capacity building, and healthcare innovation, bringing technology closer to underserved communities.
Syed Nazakat, Founder and CEO of DataLEADS, said, “Building on ADiRA, our AI readiness and capacity-building initiative reaching medical colleges, public health institutions and hospitals across India, Swasth AI Hubs will take AI from awareness to practical, responsible use in community health—connecting trusted information and institutional expertise with grassroots needs, equipping health workers, students and innovators to explore how AI can address the health challenges people face every day.”
Under the partnership, DataLEADS and JanAI will work with medical colleges, research institutions and industry partners to establish and operate the hubs.
The network will offer workshops, training programmes and learning resources to help students, faculty members and frontline health workers understand how AI can be applied in healthcare.
The hubs will also connect startups and other innovators with grassroots healthcare challenges, providing opportunities to develop solutions, receive mentoring and test ideas through pilot projects in collaboration with healthcare institutions.
Community engagement, including outreach in local languages, will be central to helping people understand AI and explore its potential applications in healthcare.
Madan Padaki, Founder of JanAI, said: “AI should be useful to people where they live, including communities in rural India that are often overlooked in the development of new technologies. Swasth AI Hubs will bring communities, health institutions, and innovators together to shape AI solutions around people’s needs, in languages they understand. Through our JanAI Cafés, we want to help communities engage with AI and explore how it can address challenges that matter to them.”
DataLEADS will contribute its experience in trusted information, AI readiness, global health and digital trust and safety, while JanAI will bring its focus on inclusive AI adoption through local-language and community-based solutions.
The two organisations will jointly design, implement and review the initiative. They will identify partner institutions and industry organisations to host the hubs, with district selection, geographical coverage, rollout phases and timelines to be determined through mutually agreed work plans.
The partnership will also document insights from the hubs through reports and learning resources. Ethical use of health-related information and data privacy will remain key considerations as the network explores AI applications for rural healthcare.
