Ciro Pharma has inaugurated India’s first integrated oncology manufacturing facility in Hyderabad after investing INR 800 Cr, marking a significant expansion in the country's cancer drug manufacturing capabilities.
The facility has been designed to manufacture multiple oncology formulations under one roof while supporting employment generation and strengthening Telangana’s pharmaceutical ecosystem.
The facility is located at Biotech Park Phase III in Genome Valley, Hyderabad’s life sciences district, an area that has emerged as one of India's leading biotechnology and pharmaceutical clusters.
The new manufacturing unit was inaugurated by IT and Industries Minister Sridhar Babu Duddilla.
Built with an investment of INR 800 Cr, the plant is equipped to manufacture oral oncology medicines, sterile injectables, lyophilised powder injections, and soft gel capsules.
It also incorporates advanced containment technology designed to ensure safe production of highly potent oncology drugs while maintaining stringent quality and safety standards.
Besides supporting skilled workforce development by creating around 500 direct jobs in its initial phase, the project is expected to contribute to India's pharmaceutical exports by increasing the domestic manufacturing of specialised cancer therapies for global markets.
Speaking at the inauguration, Sridhar Babu Duddilla, Minister of Information Technology, Electronics, Communications, Industries & Legislative Affairs in the Telangana government, reiterated the state's long-term vision for the sector.
"Our government is committed to making Telangana a global life sciences innovation hub by promoting world-class manufacturing, research, AI-driven healthcare, sustainable green pharma, and high-value investments that generate quality employment and drive inclusive economic growth," he stated.
Telangana has steadily attracted investments in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, and healthcare innovation through dedicated industrial policies and infrastructure.
Genome Valley today hosts hundreds of life sciences companies, research institutions, and manufacturing facilities serving both domestic and international markets.
