Beacon Health Seals Deal for Ascension Hospitals in Michigan

With the acquisition of Ascension’s Southwest Michigan hospitals and related facilities, Beacon Health Systems now operates 11 hospitals, around 190 care sites.
Indiana-based non-profit health organization, Beacon Health System has completed its acquisition of Ascension Southwest Michigan hospitals and associated facilities.
The deal, announced in April, adds four hospitals, 35 clinics, and over 2,700 staff to Beacon, marking its entry into Michigan and expanding its network to 11 hospitals and 190 care sites.
The acquisition brings more than 2,700 employees and 259 providers under Beacon.
Kreg Gruber, CEO, Beacon Health Systems, said, “This acquisition represents our continued commitment to strengthening health care in our region. Our patients will benefit from access to an expanded network of services and providers.”
Beacon said the deal will improve access to its specialized care in Michigan, enhance recruitment, and boost efficiency.
Under this partnership, Beacon also enters into a new partnership with Western Michigan University’s medical school.
“As a locally governed nonprofit organization, we remain committed to a community focus, driven by our mission to deliver outstanding care, inspire health, and connect with heart,” Gruber said.
“Our commitment to exceptional care is what makes our organization strong, and now together with our new associates and providers, we’re stronger than ever.”
