ASMS & Huwel to Launch Cubo Platform to Expand Point-of-Care Diagnostics in India
The platform’s compact feature is expected to bring advanced diagnostics to rural clinics and remote regions where access to centralized labs remains limited.
Avio Smart Market Stack Limited (ASMS), formerly known as Bartronics, and Hyderabad-based Huwel Lifesciences have announced plans to launch Cubo, aimed at enhancing molecular diagnostics access across India and global healthcare systems.
Cubo is designed as an ultra-compact RT-PCR platform that enables decentralized diagnostics by bringing advanced molecular testing capabilities to the point of care.
The solution is intended to address critical gaps in healthcare systems where samples often need to be transported to centralized facilities, resulting in delays and logistical inefficiencies.
By enabling accurate RT-PCR testing at or near the point of care, the solution is expected to reduce turnaround times and improve operational workflow.
In addition, the platform’s compact feature is expected to bring advanced diagnostics to rural clinics, district hospitals, mobile health units, industrial sites, border areas, and remote regions where access to centralized labs remains limited.
The platform seeks to support a range of diagnostic applications, including tuberculosis, respiratory infections, influenza, viral panels, women’s health diagnostics, sexually transmitted infections, fever panels, and future outbreak-response applications.
By combining RT-PCR and molecular testing capabilities with a portable format, Cubo is expected to provide a simplified workflow and user-friendly interface, enabling physicians and healthcare teams to leverage it across diverse settings and improve patient outcomes.
Commenting on the new launch, Vidhya Sagar Reddy, Managing Director of Avio Smart Market Stack Limited, said, "Healthcare access should not be determined by geography. Cubo represents a major step toward bringing advanced diagnostics directly into underserved markets at scale."
Sharing his thoughts on the same, Shesheer Kumar, Managing Director of Huwel Lifesciences, said, "Cubo has been engineered to combine scientific precision with operational simplicity. Early leadership in compact molecular diagnostics can translate into sustained long-term market strength."
The latest development builds on the companies’ previously announced partnership for Southeast Asia expansion, aimed at strengthening ASMS's footprint in healthcare and diagnostic-driven opportunities.
