Ambience Healthcare has appointed Dr. Michael Han, MD, MBA, as its first Chief Medical Officer (CMO), tasking him with leading clinical strategy and scaling its artificial intelligence platform across healthcare systems.

Dr. Han brings over two decades of experience in health IT, clinical informatics, and surgical leadership. He previously served as Enterprise Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) at MultiCare Health System and held leadership roles at Providence and Pacific Medical Centers. He is board-certified in urology and clinical informatics.

His appointment aligns with a broader shift in the clinical AI market, where healthcare organizations are moving away from standalone tools toward integrated platforms that support end-to-end workflows. At Ambience, Dr. Han will focus on embedding AI-driven intelligence across care settings, including outpatient, inpatient, and emergency environments.

The company is working to expand its platform capabilities beyond the “digital scribe” model. This includes integrating real-time revenue integrity tools designed to capture clinical complexity and support accurate financial outcomes. The platform also aims to automate administrative processes while maintaining clinical usability within electronic health record (EHR) systems.

In his new role, Dr. Han will collaborate with product and commercial teams to align technology development with clinical and operational requirements of health systems. His mandate includes ensuring that AI tools deliver measurable outcomes across care delivery, clinical workflows, and administrative efficiency.

Ambience Healthcare’s platform is designed to support more than 200 medical specialties, with a focus on scaling AI across the care continuum. The company is also exploring applications in care coordination and clinical research as part of its broader expansion strategy.

Dr. Han holds a medical degree from the University of Michigan and an MBA from The Wharton School. His combined clinical and operational experience is expected to guide the company’s efforts to integrate AI into core healthcare infrastructure.
