AHM & Dufferin Hospital, Kanpur, has achieved a major digital milestone by becoming UP's first facility to complete 100% Online Admission & Discharge, strengthening the adoption of paperless hospital workflows and improving the efficiency of patient services.

The initiative forms part of the broader Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), which aims to build an interoperable digital health ecosystem across India by enabling seamless exchange of health records, improving continuity of care, and reducing administrative burdens.

Digital admission and discharge processes help minimize paperwork, shorten waiting times, improve record accuracy, and make hospital services more efficient for both patients and healthcare providers.

AHM & Dufferin Hospital completed the transition within a week while maintaining regular hospital services.

During this period, the hospital recorded 359 online admissions, 350 online discharges, and conducted 1,258 laboratory tests through the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS). It also reported that 75% of patients had achieved ABHA registration, supporting wider adoption of digital health identities.

The hospital has also successfully trained its dedicated staff on the Pharmacy Module and has officially launched the Emergency OPD Prescription Module, further expanding the use of digital systems across clinical and administrative functions.

These additions are expected to strengthen electronic prescription management and streamline medicine dispensing within the facility.
